Fantasy One: Alice Meets Humpty Dumpty Rove

The first creature who appeared looked like a large round egg. His name was Humpty Dumpty Rove.

Humpty Dumpty Rove: "I'm one of King Bush's spin doctors. I make sure King Bush can use words any way he wants to. They mean anything he wants. He can even make them mean things in retrospect."

Alice: "What does 'retrospect' mean?"

Humpty Dumpty Rove: "After the facts are known. Like if you have the ability to place a bet on a horse after the results of the race are in.

"In January 2002, the King told his Congress and his Secretary of State told the U.N. that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction ready to be used against the U.S."

Alice: "Did they find them?"

Humpty Dumpty Rove: "No, but the President said that was OK because the leader of Iraq was a bad man. Saddam Hussein WANTED to have weapons of mass destruction. And he was developing the capacity to have them."

Alice: "When I want an ice cream cone, wanting it is not the same as having it."

Humpty Dumpty Rove: "Yes, but you're not King Bush. King Bush is like me. When I use a word, it means exactly what I say it means."

He smiled condescendingly: "It all depends on which is the master, you or the word!"
